Reader’s Question:
I’ve heard that the Mitsubishi Outlander was introduced in 2001 here in Houston, Texas. What difference or upgrades that the 2007 model has compared to the earlier version?
Nathan
Houston, TX
As compared to the older version of Mitsubishi Outlander, the 2007 model is much larger. All of its 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander models (ES, LS and XLS) are equipped with a 3.0 liter V6 engine, which can produce 220 horsepower and 6,250 revs per minute. It has a 6 speed automatic transmission which operates smoothly as that of the Ford window motor. One of its remarkable features would be the Sportronic Technology which allows manual gear changes.
The 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander is also equipped with the Reinforced Safety Evolution chassis which gives it the attribute of a rally car. The chassis has a rigid unibody structure which allows the Mcpherson struts to run smoothly for independent multi link suspension of the rear. What gives it the rally car like performance is the steering and suspension system with the all wheel drive option. And because of these remarkable features, driving the 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander in the rough terrains of Houston, Texas is such a breeze. Plus, it also allows tight cornering on city streets.
